Norristown, PA - The Exhibition is located within Norristown Pa historic Centre Theater. It is a celebration of the life, work and accomplishments of local hero Charles Blockson who has amassed one of the World’s largest private collections of African American history and the Underground Railroad, spanning across centuries.

An insult in the early 1940’s from his teacher ignited interest in Charles to start collecting material.

The DeNicola Foundation will sponsor the Underground RR exhibit as a continuation of their Passion for Cultural Diversity and Diplomacy. James Blockson, Charles great-grandfather, had been a slave in DE who escaped into PA vis the Underground railroad. Listening to his grandfather sing Railroad Hymns, Charles deepened his curiosity about the struggles of freedom. The Underground RR exhibit will feature somber artifacts and relics of the atrocities of the past.

“Our family is proud to participate in the Underground RR exhibit. We are inspired by the Blockson collection and are looking forward to showing it to the world”, stated DeNicola Family Foundation Executive Director, Morgan DeNicola.
